Bombay Talkies gets a opening dull, Shootout At Wadala Makes Rs.20 crore in two days


Despite rave reviews and positive response from fans the tribute to 100 years of cinema - Bombay Talkies has not been able to manage a good response at the box office.
The movie featuring different stories put together by directors Zoya Akhtar, Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap and Dibakar Banerjee has just minted over 1 crore on opening day.

Trade analyst Taran Adrash has tweeted, "#BombayTalkies Friday *early estimates* 1.05 cr to 1.25 core,". The film has not been released overseas as it will be screened at Cannes Film Festival 2013 in France, before being released in international market.
The film stars mitabh Bachchan, Rani Mukherjee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vineet Kumar, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Katrina Kaif, Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor among others.

On the other hand, gangster drama Shootout at Wadala has reportedly garnered Rs.20 crore in two days. Directed by Sanjay Gupta, the film has received good opening at the box office.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh has tweeted, "#ShootoutAtWadala Sat *estimates* 9.75 cr to 10 cr. Marginal drop in few circuits. Super-strong in several others... Fri was 10.1 cr."
The film stars John Abraham, Tusshar Kapoor, Sonu Sood, Manoj Bajpayee and Anil Kapoor in the lead roles. The film has three item numbers that too by Sunny Leone, Sophie and Priyaka Chopra.
