Arjun Kapoor is a volcano of talent: Atul Sabharwal

With Arjun Kapoor's Aurangzeb's trailers buzzing through YouTube and social media charts, director Atul Sabharwal in a conversation with TOI can't stop going gaga about the actor.

Asked why Arjun was selected for playing the double role in Aurangzeb, the director said, "Arjun was always the first choice. We were lucky to have the wish-list we made for the film. When an actor like Arjun KapoorRanveer Singhand Ranbir Kapoor take up a film they pay extra time and attention to understand the film and their character in detail."

Talking about Arjun's potential as an actor and explaining the intricate nature of his character in the film, he added, "In Aurangzeb, Arjun has one body as a human but continuously he exists in two characters. It makes my job easier, and we are lucky to have that kind of actors. Arjun has just started his career and he oozes immense talent. It needs to be explored in the years to come."

He went further comparing the actor with Amitabh Bachchan. "He has a very good combination of being a good actor and star power. He has a characterful face like Amitabh BachchanToshiro Mifune andMarcello Mastroianni, and I see him exactly there. He is definitely a volcano of talent which is going to erupt," said the director.

"Arjun's journey from Ishaqzaade to Aurangzeb doesn't look like his second film. The maturity has been great and he has worked on himself. Every year he is maturing with a pace that other takes at least four years," he concluded. (sic)
