Amitabh Bachchan set for a solo hit at 71 years as a Bhootnath

When Subhash Ghai’s Dilip Kumar and Rajkumar starrer, SAUDAGAR, released and became a hit in 1991, it was an unusual achievement of sorts. The main protagonist, Dilip Kumar, was touching 70 years and no other actor in the history of Indian cinema had achieved such a milestone. But SAUDAGAR also had the late Rajkumar in a stellar role and so it was not classified as solo hit for Dilip Kumar. All the same the record looked unsurmountable.
However, as they say records are meant to be broken, and it seems that the impossible is about to happen, and the actor at the helm of affairs is none other than the 71 year old megastar, Amitabh Bachchan, and obviously the film in question is T-Series and B.R. Films’ BHOOTHNATH RETURNS. Not only has the film surpassed the entire run of the first edition, BHOOTHNATH, in just five days, but still has a lot of steam left.
