Gauhar Khan is on a roll these days. After winning reality show Bigg Boss and participating in Khatron Ke Khiladi with beau Kushal Tandon, the actress has now signed a film titled Fever as the main lead. “I can’t reveal much at this point in time but yes, I play the female protagonist and am very excited about it,” she says.
Gauhar admits that she is not the adventurous sort and therefore being part of Khatron Ke Khiladi was largely due to her boyfriend’s prodding. In fact, she had rejected the offer a couple of times in the past, but the channel kept convincing her to take it up.
“When I was first offered the show, I immediately said ‘no’ because I am not into adventurous stuff. They kept approaching and I kept rejecting. But I finally gave in since I had Kushal for company this time. I am glad I did so because I cherish the experience. I did things that I never imagined I could do,” she says.
Among the two of them, Kushal is definitely the brave one, she confesses. “He is also more competitive than I am and was my support system when I was there. He would shout at me if I acted like a phattu (coward). Later we would laugh about it. He won almost all the tasks he tried his hand at but unfortunately had to leave due to an injury,” he says.
While she has had Kushal by her side all along, Gauhar admits that she’s been missing her older sister Nigaar. She says, “I’ve been busy shooting for KKK and Bigg Boss and Nigaar has been busy with her television show Main Na Bhoolungi. I am back in the city, but we get barely three hours with each other every day. We try to make the most of it, but I really wish we got more time,” says Gauhar, who had also done a reality show called The Khan Sisters with Nigaar.
Ask her how life has changed after winning Bigg Boss and she says with a smile, “It’s the best phase of my life. When fans spot me in my car, they blow kisses; all the love and affection is so humbling.”
