His sentiments were echoed by Kareena, who said, “When an incident like this happens we talk about it and say this should be done, that should be done, but no one keeps a tab on if or not action is actually taken. We really need to reassess our laws so that justice happens faster. Saying that a woman should not go out at night, is not the solution to the problem.”
Salman in fact went a step further and added, “Impulsively you feel like saying, maar do saalon ko. But they need to be punished so hard that people should remember.”
Khan, who landed in the city on Tuesday afternoon, did not know exactly what had happened and asked mediapersons present at the event about the incident.
On hearing about it he said, “That’s really disgusting. No one should be let scot free for such a crime.”
However, in the same breath, he urged the common man to step out to help others in distress. “Everyone should come forward and take action in such situations, rather than taking pictures from your phones,” he said.
