Ajay's Son Of Sardar 1st weekend (6 days) collection at Box Office

Director Ashwni Dhir's third Hindi movie Son Of Sardar, which is a remake of Telugu film Maryada Ramanna, has done a record breaking collection at the Box Office in India in the six day extended first weekend. The Ajay DevgnSanjay Dutt and Sonakshi Sinha starrer has smashed the record of Ajay's last release Bol Bachchan. But it has landed in the second spot with Jab Tak Hai Jaan topping the weekend business chart.
It was speculated that Jab Tak Hai Jaan would send down the collection of Son Of Sardar, which was released in 2,000+ screens across the country on the same date - November 13. But undeterred by its waves, the latter opened to an earth-shattering response at the domestic Box Office with its occupancy ranging between 90% to 100%. The romantic comedy movie collected Rs 10.72 crores nett on the first day of its release in the country.
Son Of Sardar showed a huge growth of 55% in its business on Wednesday. But it had a steep fall on Thursday and Friday, and this was due to busy day for colleges and offices. The movie had showed big improvement in the morning and afternoon shows on Saturday. However, it suffered setback in Maharashtra, as evening and night shows were cancelled following Bal Thackeray's death. It did not have any screenings in the state on Sunday too and it is a big blow for the makers.
Son Of Sardar has surpassed the first week record of Bol Bachchan in just first weekend. The Ajay-Sanjay-Sonakshi starrer has collected Rs 66.02 crores nett at the domestic Box Office in six-day extended opening weekend. Its breakup is Rs 10.72 cr on Tue, Rs 16.21 cr on Wed, Rs 12.22 cr on Thu, Rs 10.12 cr on Fri, Rs 8.50 cr on Sat and Rs 8.25 cr on Sun.
However, Son Of Sardar is expected to cross Rs 100 crore mark at the domestic Box office in the first week. It should be seen how Son Of Sardar would perform on weekdays.

  1. The director has made a remake of the Telugu movie "Maryada Ramanna" with a fastidious reverence for the Bollywood audience, not adding any Telugu taste into the movie, with the addition of Sardar ishtyle in the movie. Of course, most of the viewers would find it unrealistic, and unimaginatively impractical, on the contrary, it is just a movie for an entertainment purpose.! :) But .. try to think about the "JUST IMAGINE" phrase !!!! ;) Do not go to the movie with high expectations to learn about sardars in the movie. Just enjoy the movie!! It would fetch you entertainment, 100% entertainment.! :)
